Kavitha once dreamed of becoming an actor, but migrant pressure pushed her into the corporate world. Then the Supposed To Be program offered her a second chance: a cloned child named Kaye, raised in a family designed to help her become the artist Kavitha was supposed to be.

There’s only one rule: Kavitha must watch her clone from afar. If Kaye ever discovers her Original, she may lose the belief that she can become whoever she dreams of becoming.

But when Kaye discovers she’s an adopted clone, she spirals into a crisis of identity in an industry where authentic cultural identity is currency.

As Kaye and Kavitha face off, it becomes the cloned child of nowhere versus a body embalmed in migrant duty. And when the spectre of their mother enters the equation, the boundaries of reality begin to collapse.
